Welcome to Our Wilderness Experience

Skeena Valley Expeditions provides travellers with extraordinary wilderness experiences. We have created unique expeditions that take you to the parts of British Columbia we love best: the majestic far North, with its glaciers and tundra; the primeval forests and streams of the Northwest, where salmon and eagles abound; and the coastal rivers and stunning mountains of the interior. 

 

Unique Access

You would be hard pressed do this on your own. Our limited issue permits allow us to take you deep into the heart of each region, where there are no roads. Instead, you travel on water by raft. Rather than see nature up close, you enter into it. On our trips, your encounters are with wildlife – not other tourists.

 

 

 

 

 

Smaller Groups, Greater Enjoyment

Our smaller group sizes – average 12 travellers per trip – mean better service and the ability to accommodate different activity levels and interests. Help with the paddling, or just sit back and relax. As long as you're happy, so are we. On most of our trips, we offer scenic walks, with the option of more difficult hikes for those so inclined. And on trips that feature whitewater, it's often your choice whether to shoot the rapids in a raft... or with a camera as you hike around them.

 

We Take Care of You

With Skeena Valley Expeditions, your trip price includes everything. All you bring are your clothes, your camera, and your sense of wonder. We take care of everything else; every detail, all of the work. You sit back while we point out the wildlife and prepare the hors d'oeuvres, pour your coffee and do the dishes. Your meals and drinks, rafting equipment, camping gear, even local flights and transfers are all part of the package.

 

Savour More Than the View

Our renowned menus showcase the freshest, most delicious ingredients indigenous to the Northwest. Your dinner might start with corn meal-crusted, pan-fried oysters with grainy mustard mousse, feature Pacific salmon with a maple glaze, and finish with white chocolate and hazelnut brownies. Our wine is carefully selected, as are our BC microbrews – a refreshing way to relax after a day in the sun. After dinner, stargaze or relive the day's high points over a steaming hot chocolate or a soothing single malt. And after a blissful night's sleep, awaken to wild blueberry pancakes, eggs Florentine, yoghurt and fresh fruit from the BC heartland. Slip Into Something More Comfortable

Though far from civilization, your creature comforts aren't left behind. We have worked with Mountain Hardware and North Face to provide you with the best camping equipment available. Our deluxe Thermarest air mattresses (and the clean wilderness air) guarantee a good night's sleep. We use only top-of-the-line, four-season expedition tents. And of course, Skeena Valley Expeditions provides you with steaming hot showers.

 

Bring the Kids

The Tatshenshini is a perfect trip for the whole family.  Not enough whitewater to be too much for the kids, yet fast enough current to entertain even the most curious minds.  Kids 10 and over are welcome and we can specially design your trip to suit the family.
